Even on vacation in Scotland to attend a friend’s wedding I learned something new about Mass Timber! Did you know that the Douglas Fir, a species commonly used for mass timber products made in the Pacific Northwest, was named after Scottish botanist David Douglas? Luckily we don’t use old growth trees like this one anymore!
